Norlandair's projects are diverse. This week our pilots Kristinn Elvar Gunnarsson and Björn Jóhannesson, flew several scientists to Greenland. The project involved flying them to 5 locations on the glacier, all in a straight line east of Kangerlussuaq. The scientists have equipment at these locations that measures basal sliding of the glacier. During the winter, snow can fall 1 - 1.5 meters deep, so it's important to dig up the battery boxes and raise the masts of the equipment so that they do not disappear into the glacier.
Here are a few photos from the expedition.
