Arctic Circle Flight -
Step foot across the Arctic Circle on the island of Grímsey, the only point in Iceland where this is possible. From and to Akureyri we will fly Iceland’s longest fjord, Eyjafjörður, a 60 km long fjord with beautiful mountain scenery.
Grímsey is the northernmost inhabited part of Iceland with population of about 100. On arrival, a local guide will great you and walk with you around the island, to the village and to the magnificent bird cliffs. The island boasts of 100 m. high sea cliffs where conditions for bird-watching are unique. About sixty species of birds nest on this fascinating island. The beautiful puffin is more of a symbol for Grímsey than any other bird.
A signpost is located 66 degrees and 33 minutes north and marks the Arctic Circle. Travelers get a certificate for crossing the circle.
